The Origin of the Name

The name "Bulbous Spacehopper" arose from a late-night session of cut-ups some years ago. (For those of you who don't know already, "cut-ups" refers to the practice of cutting a number of texts into small fragments of one to three words, jumbling them up and then drawing at random to create serendipitous juxtapositions.)
The phrase that emerged was "bulbous spacehopper monkeys" which might easily have had the undistinguished fate of becoming the name of an obscure garage band in Camden, but instead was adopted in a moment of madness by the writer as the umbrella title for his computer-related works.
